New McIntosh Audio System

I am looking at puting a new Audio system in my car ('88 Jalpa.) It currently has an Alpine Head unit, Apline four channel amp, hard wired crossovers, and MB quart speakers.

I want to put a McIntosh MX406 head unit in it with a Mac MCC404M. Maybe a MDA 5000 24bit DAC.

Has anyone had any experience with any Car Mac components? I have had Mac Home Audio components before and loved them, but that was before Clarion bought and sold Mac.


Any thoughts guys.

P.S. The current system was in the car when I bought it...it was wired completely wrong and had shorted the head lights, dash lights, and tail lights! It is all working correctly now, thank god.
