The Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT #5 run by the Krohn Barbour Racing team driven by David Brabham and Peter Kox got 2nd place in the GTS class! The Murcie came in between the 1st and 3rd place Corvettes (it didn't hurt that there were no GTS Ferraris in this race). The #6 Murcie DNF'd. Congratulations on a podium finish at the Infineon (Sears Point) Grand Prix of Sonoma ALMS Race!!! This looks like a first class racing team, and hopefully they can make a real run with the Lamborghini.

On a sad note, there was a crash of one of the Corvetttes by Dale Earnhardt Jr in practice earlier the same day. He had to be airlifted out with burn injuries.

Glad to hear the Murcie's did well, i caught the first part of the race but then i had to go to work. I saw on ESPN Dale Earnhardt Jr suffered minor burns to his legs and chin. Sad, it seems like whenever he wrecks, he wrecks bad. They had a camera down on the underside of the car and it showed the fuel tank bursted and fuel going everywhere, a scary sight. They also showed Dale in the car with his helmet on and fire just engulfing his face...so hard to watch. Thanks for posting the pics!
