for my 35th birthday, my aunt rented a 2004 Gallardo from Supercar Rentals Inc (www.supercarrentalsinc.com) for me, for the weekend. Guys, I gotta tell you, I am FLOORED at how fantastic a car the Gallardo is. WOW. Of course it is fast, and it handles great. It also sounds amazing, this car had a Tubi on it. The car is so usable in traffic, the AC is great, the car runs quietly when you want it to be, smooth as can be on the road. I LOVE the car and will have one someday. What a blast. I HIGHLY recommend Supercar Rentals Inc, they are a top notch organization, and they even brought the car to my house!! Here is a link to some of the pics:

Weekend runs $1,550 it appears with 100 miles allowed(??!!??). The site has their insurance information as well.

I am in the WRONG end of the business if you can get someone to borrow one for $6K a week!

Yes, they only have the Gallardo right now. They are getting a 360 Spider next month, and a Bentley CGT the following month. Great people too. I had a BLAST!! All I can say is that I am jealous of you Gallardo owners. The car is outstanding! I will certianly be renting from them again.

thank you, mitch for clarifying. everyone has to start somewhere. glad you enjoyed the experience.

i am curious, did the rental company require you to use your own auto insurance policy or did they provide insurance for you at a cost?

I would be SO inclined to do something like that as a gift for my ol' man, but the 100mile limit just kills me. He's not a - drive it to the Ritz, Park it, and stand beside it so everyone looks at him - kinda guy. I think he'd really like just DRIVING the damned car, but basically, you get no more than (1) 40 mile trip out of it

10 miles, avg, from the rental place to home
40 miles of driving (less than 1 hr)
    40 miles back home
10 miles to return the car without going over the limit

    What fun is that?

The mileage "limit" isn't a restriction -- it's just the number of miles included free of charge. Unfortunately in the exotic rental business we can't offer unlimited mileage free, otherwise we'd lose our shirts, houses, and cars! :)

It's all plotted out in a formula we use internally -- up here in NYC, we charge $3950 for the weekend in a Gallardo and include 200 miles free, then it's $1.95 after that. I could say "0 miles free", "500 miles free" or "1000 miles free" and then charge $3550, $4550 or $5550, but it's the same in the end no matter how you cut it. Mileage = depreciation.
