Gallardo turbo update

  1. Just made my weekly call to Jason.
    He said after they pulled the heads he was surprised to find
    aluminum cylinder walls. Looks like he'll probably bore and hone
    and insert steel sleeves like every other high performance
    engine that will see some strong abuse. Result should be something more
    durable than the factory produces.

    I knew to do this right would be a project but that is the only way
    we'll have it.

  3. Awesome. You definately want to do it right the first time. The time away from the car, will be all made up once you get it back.
  4. What kind of power are you lookin to make with that setup. It sounds awesome, cant wait to see pics!
  5. they were aluminum with a nikasil coating, which is an extremely hard and durable surface. I'm not sure why they want to change that unless the liners are too thin for the power levels you had in mind.
  6. Are you planning to increase the bore or stroke? are you going to use a wastegate or a blow off valve pressure release system? as you may know v 10's have the best crankshaft harmonics of any over head piston engines so turboing it will necesitate less attention to strenthing the powertrain it's self this will allow you to go a little crazier with the power than most people can when turboing their car just remember that power is useless with out good rubber
