    Hi there,
New to the community and would like to buy a FI 5000QV. I found an 87 with 25000 miles black on black and want to see from the community what they think market price on this car would be. Mechanically sound, repaint about 5 years ago, new clutch completed, interior has been redone and car shows very well. No leaks or mechanical issues. Im buying the car to drive a few times a month , not to sit in my garage. Any input/advice would be appreciated.

Noticed you didn't have any replies so I'll give it a shot. Without seeing the car or knowing other details I would expect to pay in the ball park of $250k. Perhaps others can chime in on that estimate, best of luck.

Not shure what the actual current real world price is. I think Curated sold their fi, seems like a good serious company, might give you some advice. Not to many out there for sale,Awesome cars, very good Countach variant, for all the right reasons.

if looking for a driver and not really into the rarity / collectable mode, the best bet would be a 25th 89 or 90 FI. They are plentiful and most lower miles not mentioning the best bargains. You do have to like the style thou but this is the sorted model. They are in the mid $200Ks but a ar with more miles would probably go low $200Ks? I would expect a good QV FI to be somewhat above that.

Little stuff like the tool kit, spare tire, owners manual & manual cover are expensive to replace if missing. 10k more or less if you're starting at zero.

I may know of a FI for sale, well sorted out, not a 25th but, more than well sorted out.

Not many, but a few, had the frame cut around the transmission to avoid pulling the engine out. Not a good thing to do & worth the glance when you are looking.

The car you describe sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Why was the interior redone? Thats the only part that doesnt make sense to me because the interiors of these cars are amazing and hold up really well. Also I think you need to look closer, there are problems you are not seeing. All Countachs have problems. No leaks? Impossible. They all have the gear oil leak. Now Im not saying don't buy it, I'm saying you need to know what problems the car has, buy it and enjoy it, make sure they are problems you can live with.

I think the most important thing is to have a ppi by someone who is very experienced with the Countach and is someone you trust. Ask around... a lot. Some mechanics really want to help and some want to run up a bill; just like any other discipline. So ask around to get a good sense of who you can trust... and then rely on them... and your judgement. This is a good forum to find someone. Chadbourne reached out, good place to start. A good Countach is an absolute joy, hold out for a good one! I was able to find a couple of guys who steered me to a car that has been an awesome experience.
    Best of luck,
    Neil

    Kirk,

You would be better served if you indicated what State you are in. We'll let you know about some shops that maybe able to help you with inspections. But also, always plan on double shipping. It will always be worth it. Some owners bought cars and shipped directly to the reputable shops for inspection and/or service prior to receiving it.
If a shop is close enough to the seller, there should be little reason they would block that being done.

Dont rush, take your time. I personally believe in un-restored never re-painted cars. As others have said pay a knowledgeable Countach expert to check it out

Seems to be priced well, I sent them an email inquiry but no response. Not a fan of that color though, and I believe changing out the bumpers to euro spec costs about 10k. Is that correct?

Depends on the body shop. Parts wise you might be looking around 3k or so depending on the front spoiler.

I contacted them about a year ago about it - it was sold then. They just haven't updated their website.

Hey, your perfect car just showed up on Bring a trailer auction. now at $116k but that will go up.
serviced, bumpers done, looks clean and 31K km. front bumper is the real euro one mot 25th. 87 car injected. has all manuals and accessories.
only wrong thing are the 25th wheels but as you are looking to drive this should be an issue. IMO watch this closely.

I believe The Barn had it listed for $349,900 originally. I'd hesitate to try to guess the reserve - I know BaT likes really low reserves but I'm sure The Barn don't want to take a bath on this car.

I’m guessing the reserve is around 325k.
