I think if you check, you will find the speedo is incorrect, should be in KM not miles, and should read 320 KM, which is a lot more than 160 mph for sure.
Oil pressure, temp and water temp all are also incorrect, oil press should be in KG, not lbs and water/oil temp should be in C not F.

The ad says NEW OLD STOCK for Lamborghini Countach Stewart Warner Gauges with a reproduction panel. Obviously not true. They are not for a Countach. Look forward to a refund and sending them back to you.

A handful of years ago I saw I kitcar on ebay, a Manta. A Can-Am type car with a V-8. Nicely done but needed work. When I got to the dash picture, I saw SW gauges, Countach gauges!. Since I have a Series One Countach with its original SW gauges, I got excited. Because the price of the car was not much more than a set, or pieced together set. Was going to buy it. THEN, it caught my eye, it was the same gauges here, mph lbs F etc. Sadly, I moved on.

But make no mistake if you have Countach without gauges...….. Just because they are incorrect doesn't mean that they will not work. Just sayin

Thanks Peter, but I'm a little confused. This Countach (link below), a multiple concours award winning, million dollar car, has the 'wrong' gauges, as have others I've seen, so it could be argued that only the speedo is incorrect in the ones I listed for my buddy. I just listed them as I was requested to. I will make it right, no question.

    https://www.dhrofgo.com/for-sale/1974-lamborghini-countach-lp400-periscopio/

Question, if 'my' gauges are refaced 'correctly', do they have value?

If I've made a good faith mistake, I'll put it right.

Ask Joe Sackey on this forum. He'll what lp400/lp400s had what gauges and when.

Joe Sackey, can I ask for some education on this please? I was asked to sell these gauges by a friend of mine, and the part numbers appear correct for Countach. I have numerous pictures of LP400 cars with these gauges in (with the possible exception of the specific Speedo), but it appears the prevailing wisdom is that these are 'wrong'. If this is the case, can you help us understand why 1120028, for one example, bears these gauges having been 'Beautifully restored to original specifications by marque specialist.... is now fresh from a recent detailed and extensive restoration with marque specialist back in its home country of Italy.'

As I've said over and over, if I've screwed up, I'll put it right, but I would ask for some expert guidance and explanation/evidence as to if these can be described as 'for an LP400', or if not, how this car won the '1st in Class at the 2017 Salon Prive Concours d’Elegance'.

    Thanks, K9.

Again, I am not 100% sure they are incorrect. They were for what I was doing. I can't speak for every other variant. I am almost sure the speedos were 320 though

I talked to a couple of people who are educated with this and they confirmed they are not for a Countach. I was told by one of the people I spoke with that Emilio has the correct set and he confirms the ones I have purchased from Paul D. (K9COP) were represented incorrectly. I believe the person said that the back casing of the correct gauges are even a different color than these. Paul, I would appreciate it if you contacted me and corrected the mistake. I have helped you out on numerous things with Countach parts, including giving you a great deal on a switch or switches so you could replicate them for resale. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
    Thanks

The speedo gauge in this 1974 Countach that you posted goes to 320KM. The gauges look different in this car than the ones you represented.

Emilio who I ran these gauges by stated that these aren’t correct for a Countach based on what they look like and their markings. The original Countach gauges came in black colored packaging. He has a full set for sale. Maybe he can post a pic of them.

Just out of curiosity, what is Emilio's price for the set? I know years ago when I came across one or two, they were expensive and rightfully so. Sort of like a Bravo wheel even before the 2014 boom.

Something kinda neat (useful), if you want to include someone else in a discussion, is to use the symbol @ before the user name. They will get an alert. @EMILIO, @joe sackey .

Guys, I just saw the alert.

I'd have to do a detailed analysis of what we have here and compare it with my archived notes to make a judgement, I'm sure I can get to the bottom of this but I simply don't have the time with my current schedule. I respectfully defer to Emilio, after all he makes his living conveying these parts, and I do not.

Alright, let's clarify a few things here.

I have said multiple times that I was listing these for a friend of mine and took the description on good faith, and I have already offered proof that these gauges were fitted to a million dollar, concours winning car, with the exception of the speedo. I have also said multiple times that if I have made a mistake, and the gauges are not correct, that I will endeavour to facilitate a refund to make it right.

Having said that, I do not appreciate someone who has jumped too soon, without doing their research, and tried to make a quick buck off other members of this forum insinuating that I have deliberately misrepresented the gauges, or some how deceived anybody by offering (your words Scott) 'fake Countach gauges'. What I actually wrote in my listing was 'Boxed set of NOS Stewart Warner Stage 3 gauges for Lamborghini Countach LP400', not 'as originally fitted to', not 'from', not 'removed from', but 'for', which, given the photograph I put above, in this thread, is correct with the exception of the speedo (some American cars had 85mph speedos by the way) is correct.

You may want to ask Emilio to check the part numbers, which match. And to expect 100% consistency from Lamborghini in the 70's is naive at best. Unless every single car has had the gauges removed and the back of them checked, I'm not sure how sure anyone can be, and I would expect concours judges at a National level to be aware of this.

Frankly, I expect better of people, and could do without the feeding frenzy of negative comments when I have said over and over again that I'll put it right, as I'm the little guy trying to make a living here too.

When you return the gauges and the panel intact to me Scott, I will take care of a refund, per the conversation I've had with eBay, despite the fact that my listing clearly said 'no returns'. I would also ask that you don't leave vindictive negative feedback please.

    Paul,

First off here is exactly your description:
"Boxed set of NOS Stewart Warner Stage 3 gauges for Lamborghini Countach LP400.

    One each of:

Speedo (test miles of gauge only), Rev Counter, Volts, Amps, Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Fuel, Oil Temperature.

Boxes have some shelf wear. Gauges available individually.

Free ship lower 48, please contact me for other shipping."

I had no idea it was you selling them on eBay, your user name here is K9COP and your user name on eBay is ZMETT. I would have reached out to you if I would have known. You got to be kidding me, to tell me I was buying an item to resell it to make money. Its called doing good business, buy low and sell high. Its ok when you call me to make jigs or templates of numerous items so you can remake them and sell them here on FCHAT and LAMBOCHAT and Ebay. I do all that for FREE and when you have bought anything from me you beat me up on every single thing I have ever sold you. Send me my refund back and I will send you these falsely advertised gauges back. Paypal told me not to do anything until you send me my money. I have PM'd you twice now to call me and you still have not. Yet when you wanted something from me my phone would ring off the hook with you. You keep trying to act so righteous and state you are going to make it right, I'm still waiting for my refund.
I tried to work with you on this Paul figuring it was just a mistake and you were going to make it right. But now its going on a week or more and I have not heard one word from you to get this handled, just a lot of righteous talking and no action. Paul, again, Please handle this and get me me my money back.

k9cop, no one is jumping on you. It's all good. You already said repeatedly you'd make it right. I think we all would like to know the answer to this mystery question. No so much for determining this issue but something bigger...how Lamborghini operated. Like every other mystery that members have figured out over the years.
